Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Neurology ICU, Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 36 hrs/week, Evening/Nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Every other weekend rotation, including some holidays. Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care experience within the last 3 years. Experience in ICP or ventric monitoring is required. Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma Center or similar size hospital is necessary. Successful completion of a previous travel assignment (13 weeks). License: Must have a valid nursing license for Wisconsin or a compact license from the state of permanent residence. Certifications: BLS/ACLS certified through the American Heart Association only. Must-Have: - Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.- Basic Arrhythmia experience is required.- Two references from recent work environments or assignments (supervisor or manager only).- Ability to pass the Telemetry test prior to starting. Job Description: - Provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from a neurological deficit.- Specialize in subarachnoid hemorrhages, unstable ischemic and hemorrhage strokes, and traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.- Work in a 16-bed ICU providing ICP monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring of unstable patients.- Opportunity to work with severe neurological, neurovascular, and neurosurgical populations.- Completion of an orientation before engaging in patient care duties.- Travelers are the first to float to other units as necessary based on staffing needs. Shifts may be reassigned if the primary unit no longer has a demand for staffing, ensuring contract completion.
