**Role Overview:**
As a Registered Nurse in the Neuroscience ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a diverse and complex patient population. This specialized unit handles subarachnoid hemorrhages, unstable ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and more. You will have the opportunity to work with advanced monitoring techniques such as ICP and hemodynamic monitoring.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from neurological deficits
- Work with a diverse and complex patient population
- Utilize advanced monitoring techniques such as ICP and hemodynamic monitoring
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
**Requirements:**
- Must have experience in ICP or ventric
- Completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital
- Successfully completed a 13-week traveler assignment
- Traveler must have a WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state
- BLS/ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
- Telemetry: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience and will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to starting
- Floating: Travelers are the first to float and may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on current staffing needs
**Position Details:**
- Shifts: 36 hrs/week, Evening/Nights, 12 hr shifts, Every other weekend rotation, some holidays
- State License Details: Must be currently active
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2
- Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Sub Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU), Neurology ICU
- General Certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
