We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neuroscience ICU at Hospital in Madison, WI. Role Overview:

As a Registered Nurse in the Neuroscience ICU, you will provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from neurological deficits. This specialized unit handles subarachnoid hemorrhages, unstable ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and more. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and complex patient population, utilizing advanced monitoring techniques such as ICP and hemodynamic monitoring.



Minimum Requirements:

  • Facility Requirement: Traveler must have a permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison 
  • Experience:
    • Must have experience in ICP or ventric.
    • Completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
    • Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
    • Successfully completed a 13-week traveler assignment.
  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Traveler must have a WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.
    • BLS/ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY.
  • Reference: Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only).
  • Telemetry: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience and will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to starting.
  • Floating: Travelers are the first to float and may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on current staffing needs.

  • Shifts: 36 hrs/week, Evening/Nights, 12 hr shifts, 1900 - 0730. Every other weekend rotation, some holidays.
  • State License Details: Must be currently active.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2
  • Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Sub Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU), Neurology ICU
  • General Certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
