Role Description:

As the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for maximizing the value of Primient's Co-Products portfolio via strategy execution and risk management discipline. As an expert in feedstuffs and biofuels you will lead a team to develop markets and foster new customer relationships, deploy global distribution and sales strategies, and minimize freight expense by driving optimization and effective rate negotiation. You will prioritize data-based decision making and develop tools which aid in making well informed decisions in a dynamic market while also creating transparency into the business strategy and structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploying trading strategies and risk management practices
  • P&L responsibility for feed, meal, and oil
  • Global and domestic market development
  • Partnership with Primient plant operations management
  • Leadership and team building
  • Unit rail, single car rail, and barge trade, execution, and rate negotiation
  • Data based management tool development
  • Daily execution for shipments, contract/toll negotiation, and risk management for germ
  • Relationship management with brokers, marketers, resellers, and throughput facilities
  • Industry association participation and engagement



Experience:

  • 10+ years related industry experience (beef & dairy, pet food, aquaculture ingredient markets, corn processing industry)
  • Risk management in ag. commodities
  • Position management within a dynamic production environment
  • Rail trade and rate negotiation - partner Primient Transportation team
  • Biofuels markets
