SUMMARY

Originates commercial, small business and consumer loans, promotes the banking institution and its lending and depository services to the community and helps to identify and serve the community’s financial needs by participating in community activities.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

  • Solicits commercial, small business, and consumer loans and deposit relationships for the banking institution. Informs prospective loan clients of the institution’s underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
  • Takes loan applications, negotiates terms and closes loans.
  • Evaluates and negotiates potential customer loan requests and makes loan approval recommendations to management, including analyzing applicant’s credit history, repayment capabilities, and collateral specifications.
  • Communicates approvals or denials to the borrower.
  • Markets the banking institution’s ancillary products and services to clients.
  • Manages the clients banking accounts for the life of the client’s relationship.
  • Actively participates in the institution’s community activities and maintains close contact with local business owners and prospects.
  • Small business and consumer lending experience a plus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in a commercial banking setting.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures including state and federal regulations.
  • Strong sales, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with customers about the banking programs and policies.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
