Adult Protective Services Specialist III

Hourly Rate:

Level II: $21.00 per hour

Level III: $22.05 per hour

Travel: Occasional

Must possess valid driver's license and maintain valid car insurance as insured driver.

Job Responsibilities

The APSS III, of this unit, conducts prompt and thorough screening of all intakes received from the Hotline, Community Adult Protective Services and Long-Term Care investigations. Verifies that all assigned allegation(s) and the response type meet APS Policy requirements. When field supervisors or specialists dispute the allegations or response type, the APSS III works with them to resolve the dispute.

Forwards referrals to more appropriate responders when the report does not meet APS criteria for intervention. Assigns referrals to field specialists based on current procedures. Researches client and alleged perpetrator history for accuracy to provide field specialists the most relevant information, while addressing all known factors that may impact the safety of clients and adult protective services specialists in the field.

Provides feedback to supervisors regarding the quality of intakes received from the Hotline in an effort to continuously improve the intake and screening process. Participates in focus groups as a subject matter expert for process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Adult Protective Services Specialist, Level II - Applicant may either have a master's degree; or a bachelor's degree and one year of experience in professional social work.

Adult Protective Services Specialist Level III - Applicant may either have a Master's degree plus one year of professional social work experience, OR a Bachelor's degree plus two years of professional social work experience.

The complexity of the duties assigned will in part depend on the level of experience. The salary depends on the level of qualification of the applicant.
