The IT Business Analyst II is an experienced professional responsible for bridging the gap between IT and business stakeholders through data-driven improvements that align with business objectives. Using fact-based analysis, the IT Business Analyst II will regularly interact with the business unit to gather, propose and document requirements as related to potential process efficiencies to be accomplished through technology. Recommends and facilitates enhancements to existing processes and solutions that align with overall IT and company strategy. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, business acumen, analytical skills and knowledge of IT solutions. This role requires a self-motivated, proactive approach to identifying opportunities for business improvements and ensuring that technology solutions align with organizational goals. Ensure data integrity and security across all business systems and processes Assess business needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) Develop, write, and communicate business requirements for the implementation of business solutions based on extensive data, interviews and research Support all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and implementation Support the creation, completion and validation of solution testing processes to ensure the integrity of each solution is maintained with minimal risk Investigate problems and develop and implement data-driven recommendations for resolution Identify risks associated with solutions and collaborate with IT resources for mitigation strategies, ensuring solutions align with IT and organizational structure and objectives Produce communication materials and reports such as presentations, and written and oral communications Facilitate and maintain communication between technical teams and business units, ensuring clarity and alignment Articulate the business impact of opportunities and problems through financial and non-financial analysis Facilitate vendor discussions with the company’s best interest in mind to ensure vendor accountability and delivery of commitments Serve as a key point of contact for business units, providing ongoing support and guidance for IT-related inquiries and issues Monitor and assess the performance of current and future solutions, recommending and facilitating enhancements where necessary Maintain awareness of business strategies and objectives, including critical business problems and business goals. Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations in technology. Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred. 3-5+ years of related experience Ability to support each phase of the project lifecycle Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on actionable insights Proficient at functioning effectively individually as well as within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner Strong business acumen related to the utility industry Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements; must be supported by market survey data Licenses and Certifications Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™ (ECBA™) or equivalent, Preferred IT Process Certifications (ITIL, Six Sigma), Preferred Key Competencies BEHAVIORAL Balances stakeholders Builds effective teams Business insight Communicates effectively Courage Demonstrates self-awareness Drives Results Drives vision and purpose Ensures Accountability Instills trust Nimble learning Plans and Aligns Safety Strategic mindset TECHNICAL Analytical skills Compliance Computer Skills Business Partnering Business Requirements Analysis IT Data Management IT Implementation and integration Assessment Computer Skills Strategic Planning Project Tracking and Reporting Data Collection and Analysis Presentation Skills May perform other duties as assigned.
