The Grants & Contracts Administration (GCA) team manages cradle-to-grave support for sponsored research at BRI. The Grants & Contracts Specialist will support a small research portfolio and will be trained in the field to support researchers independently. The Specialist is also responsible for specific departmental projects as needs arise, such as issuing and monitoring subcontracting activity as part of the Grants and Contracts Administration Team, annual audit preparation and file review, general assistance and support for the members of the GCA team. This position is also open to candidates who would like to work remotely. Responsibilities: The G&C Specialist is responsible for reviewing PI (principal investigator) financial reports, preparing for monthly meetings to review expenses and addressing application planning and fiscal forecasting. Duties will range from basic data entry and filing to complex and sophisticated analyses. Specific duties include: Preparation and processing of forms for internal control purposes such as: Proposal Transmittal forms financial conflict of interest forms, Journal Entries, and Cost Transfers Running departmental monthly reports Maintain departmental deadline calendar Assisting in the application process to ensure BRI and sponsor forms are completed accurately and assist with budgets Audit preparation and file review Issuing and monitoring subcontract agreements The G&C Specialist will also help with the execution of the record retention policy, set up and maintain grant & contract and subcontract files; organize electronic files: includes data entry of grants budgets into database.
