This position is a key role reporting directly to the Associate Director, Grants and Contracts in our Office of Sponsored Research. In this role you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of multiple Principal Investigators (PIs) pre-award and non-financial post award activities for externally sponsored grants and contracts.

Job Summary:
As a Senior Grants and Contract Manager, you will manage complex grant processes, coordinate contracts, and perform advanced financial analysis tasks under minimal supervision. You will contribute to strategic budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining compliance with grant and contract policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the administrative aspects of federal and private foundation grant proposals.

  • Assist in coordinating the review and execution of contracts.

  • Coordinate with Principal Investigators on reporting requirements.

  • Work with Accounting on financial tracking.

  • Work with Operations to expand business processes and systems for management of awards in general, including financial reporting tools and templates.

  • Manage and work with sub-recipients/subcontracts to ensure that proposal requirements and timelines are met.

  • Develop, implement, and train researchers on policies and procedures in accordance with federal and internal policies.

  • Collaborate with funding agencies (both federal and non-federal) to resolve problems and/or obtain approval for proposal changes.

  • Serve as a content expert and resource regarding grant and contract proposals, post-award management and compliance.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Hold a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Have 5+ years of experience in research administration proposal with responsibility for proposal development, including complex budgeting, subawards and post-award grant management, and reporting.

  • Experience with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants policy and Uniform Guidance policies and regulations.

  • Pay attention to detail and can manage federal submissions/reporting independently.

  • Have excellent communication, prioritization, and project management skills.

  • Are proficient in MS Office, databases, and federal grant policies.

At Sage Bionetworks, we implement equitable workplace strategies to guarantee fair compensation. Actual compensation is determined based on current market data, experience, and internal pay parity. This position is classified as a Sage Senior level, with a salary range of $81,700 to $108,265. New hires typically receive an offer between the minimum and midpoint of the range, although higher offers may be considered based on experience and market conditions.

We have a distributed workforce and support remote and/or on-site hybrid work arrangements within the United States. All interviews will be conducted virtually unless otherwise communicated.
