Red Bull Media House gives an editorial voice to the brand by creating authentic content that engages audiences through compelling subject matter and high-quality visual appeal. We're seeking an innovative Sr. Programming Manager of Board Sports to bring our Brand's story to new audiences by engaging target consumers across our digital channels, Owned platforms & third-party outlets. This person will take ownership of creating compelling content experiences, finding the target audience digitally, and developing a re-addressable fanbase on behalf of the brand. Working closely with the Director of Board Sports Network, this person and their team will be collectively accountable for Board Sports content alignment, promotion, distribution, and defining measurable success metrics across Red Bull's Owned (Red Bull TV, RedBull.com) and Managed (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) platforms.
Job Description
DRIVE BOARDSPORTS PROGRAMMING STRATEGY
Responsible for multi-platform audience growth content strategy surrounding Red Bull's slate of Board Sports projects, events/shows, original video productions, relevant third-party competitions, and editorial on Red Bull's website
Identify Boardsports projects, stories, and events with the potential to break through and reach mass audiences
Build & maintain the definitive Board Sports Programming content calendar across Red Bull's Owned and Managed platforms
Optimize channel performance and experience through scheduling, featuring, customized functionalities and smooth consumer journeys
Sharpen the strategies of Owned and Managed channels constantly, identify potential programming partner channels, and build consistent holistic programming and release plans across the network
Define clear project success metrics inclusive of video views, minutes watched, engagements, and website visitors
Work with cross functional teams responsible for paying into audience development: Content Production, Social Programming, Owned Programming, Communications, Sports Marketing, Insights/Analytics, and Advertising
Lead on identifying learnings to make our content more impactful towards our KPI's, especially focusing on content that can break outside of the core audience while also achieving authentic brand cut-through
EXECUTION
Brief specific content needs with the Content team to maximize performance depending on platform and goals
Develop activation plans with the content and Communications departments to maximize reach of this content
Oversee boardsports social media accounts, including community management, copy writing, publishing, and real-team event coverage
Support live programming team for all US-based LIVE board sports broadcasts
NETWORKING & COLLABORATION
Collaborate with key stakeholders to define & implement the Red Bull US Sports tone of voice across all channels
Collaborate with Media Partnerships to identify distribution opportunities that reach mass audiences, providing strategic input and feedback on the impact of 3rd party releases to inform future partnerships
Build a crisp team of subject-matter audience experts to develop platform native content optimization
Collaborate with Red Bull Global Programming leadership to define a cohesive content marketing strategy, best practices, and strong US value proposition on co-operated channels (@redbull, @redbullusa, @redbullsurfing, @redbullskate, and @redbullsnow)
Collaborate with Advertising to shape a cohesive Board Sports-audience development paid media strategy
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Lead Social Media Manager to successfully develop strategies and tactical plans
Foster a high-performing, innovative, and results-based culture with your team by establishing objectives and focusing on key results
Ensure Social Media Manager develops strategies and plans grounded in business priorities and consumer insights
Provide coaching and development for Social Media Manager to support continual growth
Motivate your direct report in the execution of social campaigns, encouraging them to meet and surpass their goals
Onboard, contract, and oversee freelance writers, social producers, and consultants from project start to delivery
Qualifications
8+ years of digital content marketing and/or Programming for a sports or media/entertainment brand
Track record of marketing a global brand via social media by transforming creative ideas into successful campaigns across multiple sub-brands that drive consumer engagement, sustainable audience growth, positive brand sentiment, credibility, and innovation
Provide examples of developing and executing social media content marketing strategies
Track record of driving the adoption of new ideas and concepts and pioneering new approaches within your team or company
Analytic thinking, high affinity to data, with the ability to translate into strategy and concrete initiatives
People-management solid skills; ability to manage cross-functional relationships at various levels
Advanced decision-making skills with proven ability to drive direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams.
Possess a rigorous understanding of how to program video content for audiences on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook
Lives and breathes media on the internet
Excellent digital industry knowledge
Leadership skills, problem-solving, mediation, and coaching skills, and ability to manage conflicts of interest
Extreme attention to detail with relentlessly high standards
Agile Project Management and Kanban are a huge plus
Strong planning, project execution, and analytical competencies
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $136,895 to $151,304 + cash incentives Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
