Location: Hybrid worker in the Kansas City area

You are responsible for the identification, coordination, and implementation of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) strategies and programs in partnership with Mid-America Arts Alliance's senior leadership team and President and CEO. The strategies and programs implemented will focus on promoting the principles of DEIA and measuring the impact of our efforts in organizational policies, professional development, and programming. You are also responsible for providing leadership to the staff DEIA Task Force and will be an important member of the Human Resources team.

You Will:
  • Help plan and implement the DEIA Strategic Plan and contribute to its advancement of its goals.
  • Be the Co-ADA 504 Coordinator, which includes meeting quarterly with our six State Art Agencies' Accessibility Coordinators and attending the Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability conference.
  • Create, administer, and analyze quantitative, qualitative, and other assessments to track and evaluate the effectiveness of DEIA efforts, programs, training, and projects.
  • Develop reports, presentations, promotional materials, newsletters, and other communications. Coordinate meetings and events with internal and external partners and partners around DEIA.
  • Manage our DEIA organizational budget and resources and offer guidance to programmatic DEIA budgets.
  • Help develop DEIA training programs, facilitate multiple training and dialogs that promote DEIA; and provide professional development related to DEIA for staff.
  • Be a M-AAA resource on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to support the DEIA Task Force, staff, board, partners, and constituents.
  • Work with all divisions to evaluate existing programs and policies and recommend enhancements to promote a more accessible and inclusive arts ecosystem in our region.
  • Maintain a diversity dashboard to track and promote progress in training.
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with community partners, culturally specific organizations, marginalized communities, educational institutions, and individuals interested in volunteering or partnering with M-AAA or the broader community on DEIA issues.
  • Participate on and lead cross-departmental teams, work groups, and committees established to achieve our strategic DEIA goals.
  • Lead DEIA focused programs (i.e. Centering the Margins, Leaders of Color Professional Development, Accessibility grants, etc.)
Requirements

You Have:
  • (Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity experience when working with diverse groups of people.
  • 2+ years experience in facilitating group discussions.
  • 2+ years experience in DEIA at a nonprofit organization
  • Identify problems and their resolutions.
  • Project management experience.
Starting Compensation: $31.25 - $33.65 per hour

Working Conditions: Your working conditions include desk/computer work and require some travel to cultivate relationships with regional partners and attend conferences and convenings relevant to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. You will need to be in person to facilitate trainings. This is a hybrid work position located in Kansas City, MO. You will have flexibility in your work schedule.
