About the Role: The Inclusive Education Specialist, under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, is dedicated to delivering exceptional educational services to students with diverse needs, from kindergarten through grade 12. This role emphasizes collaboration in the development and execution of individualized student programs, including specialized instruction and support for general education staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop personalized education plans in collaboration with parents and team members.
- Facilitate learning for students with a variety of learning, emotional, and physical challenges.
- Create instructional materials that align with the general education curriculum.
- Work with parents, administrators, and specialists to formulate educational strategies that foster students' academic, physical, and social growth.
- Prepare classroom environments and materials for engaging activities.
- Coordinate the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with general education teachers.
- Monitor and assess student progress, participating in IEP reviews as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive student records.
- Provide mentorship and support to teaching assistants working with students with disabilities.
- Assist students in transitioning between grades and developing essential life skills.
- Evaluate students' skills and educational requirements, tracking their performance over time.
- Communicate effectively with students and their families to foster positive relationships.
- Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification as mandated by state and district regulations.
- At least one year of experience in an educational setting preferred.
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English required.
- Proficient in computer usage.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
