Job Description

The Turnaround Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of turnaround projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive experience in turnaround management, and a thorough understanding of industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop comprehensive turnaround plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and expectations.
  • Execute turnaround activities according to established plans, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure project success.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Promote a culture of safety on the job site, ensuring all workers adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  1. Resource Management:
  • Manage human and material resources effectively to optimize project performance.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  1. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):
  • Implement QA/QC processes to ensure work is performed to the highest standards of quality.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify defects or deficiencies and implement corrective actions as needed.
  1. Cost Control and Budget Management:
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to control expenses.
  • Provide regular budget reports and updates to project stakeholders, highlighting any variances and explaining their impact on overall project performance.
  1. Communication and Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to stakeholders, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).

  • Proven track record of successfully managing turnaround projects from conception to completion.
