Position Overview:

The Construction Site Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the construction activities on-site, ensuring that all operations align with the established project timeline, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all on-site construction tasks to ensure adherence to the project schedule.
  • Supervise and mentor site managers, providing leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance, reporting any trends to the Project Manager.
  • Implement recovery plans for construction schedules as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Oversee the completion of construction walkdowns and manage the resolution of any outstanding punch list items.
  • Facilitate daily coordination meetings with field staff and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Report on weekly progress and installation status to the Project Manager.
  • Manage extra work authorizations, back charges, and payment requests from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Act as the Safety Representative on-site, ensuring compliance with safety programs and protocols.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines and provide support as needed.
  • Address safety and quality concerns in collaboration with contractors' safety and quality managers.
  • Maintain knowledge of commercial and deliverable terms within construction contracts.
  • Contribute to the monthly construction report by detailing project progress.
  • Coordinate with Field Engineers or home office engineers regarding engineering deliverables.
  • Manage the performance of Manufacturers Service Technicians and track timesheets for hourly employees.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and oversee the change management processes associated with these improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale projects in solar energy, wind energy, or transmission lines valued at over $20 million.
  • Strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in managing subcontracts and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful project teams and foster relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as required.
