RDA provides critical expertise in research and development topics, data analysis during flight tests and at sea shipboard test periods. RDAs key product is LCAP, its Low-Cost Advanced Processor, used onboard the Navys P-8A Poseidon and U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey aircraft. LCAP enables the Navy to quickly and efficiently develop its next generation of sonobuoys and signal processing and better leverage its advantage in undersea environments. Description RDA Inc. is looking for an Aviation Acoustic/Mission Planning SME candidate in our Lexington Park, MD office to provide engineering/technology development, design, ASW mission planning, integration support and test support services to customers such as PMA-264/NAWCAD Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare Battlespace Division/ONR/DARPA and NUWC, in the pursuit of achieving their program objectives. Tasks will include, but are not limited to participation in Fleet ASW exercises and operations INCONUS/OCONUS with the P-8A, MV-22B aircraft or other platforms deemed necessary by the Navy or other sponsors. As part of aircraft operations efforts, performing aircraft integration, configuration, and operation of the following systems or software is required: Low-Cost Acoustic/Advanced Processor (LCAP)Radio Frequency Interference Collection System (RFICS)Active System Performance Estimate Computer Tool (ASPECT)Global Reconstruction and Measurement Systems (GRAMS) Qualifications Ability to generate and prepare briefing materials for ASW mission planning in support of Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT) and Data Gathering (DG) events. Position will require completing a Class 3 FAA Flight Physical and U.S. Navy Water Survival in the performance of operating test equipment onboard P-8A aircraft, MV-22B or others. Experience Candidate has at least 7 years of experience as a P-3C/P-8A/H-60R Acoustic Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Operator. Candidate has significant operational experience and knowledge of acoustic training systems and courseware. Demonstrated experience in all facets of ASW and OPS along with associated tactics, is required. Performed analysis of acoustic flight data for the generation of studies for fleet operational recommendations. Participated in Working Groups using ASW knowledge and expertise to generate recommendations and/or plans of action to resolve issues. Experience solving difficult problems, demonstrating sound judgment, and making decisions swiftly and accurately, particularly in high-pressure situations. Candidate will also have experience briefing senior civilian and military personnel on project/program status and results. Education Required Prior military experience as a P-3C/P-8A/H-60R Acoustic Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Operator. Security Clearance Required Candidate must currently have a SECRET clearance and be able to acquire a DoD TOP SECRET clearance. Travel Required Occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required. 10% - 15% Additional Information Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check prior to employment. Physical requirements for this position include the ability to lift 25 pounds regularly, the ability to move safely in confined spaces, the ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when needed, the ability to go onsite to company and customer worksites, the ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, the ability to use a computer keyboard, and the ability to see and respond to dangerous situations when needed.
