OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic, technical IT Project Manager to manage and support a variety of IT Department projects. The role will have a primary focus on enhancing lawyer productivity and capabilities to increase value to the Firm's clients. Projects will include assessing and implementing emerging technologies in the legal practice space, as well as upgrades and improvements to existing systems.

The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end project management efforts, from initial scoping and requirements gathering to project execution, monitoring, documentation, and closure, ensuring business objectives are well defined and achieved. In this position, the IT Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including attorneys, managers, and other stakeholders. This role also reports to the Senior Manager of PMO to oversee the Firm's overall project portfolio and advance other PMO enhancement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be creative, enthusiastic, analytical, and eager to take on responsibility and learn new skills. This individual must excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, 24x7 technology department and possess an exceptionally high level of personal responsibility for delivering excellent project management experience. RESPONSIBILITIES

What the IT Project Manager does at Cravath:
  • Collaborates across IT, legal practice, and other business areas to oversee projects. Examples include development and roll-out of new software programs, systems and infrastructure tools;
  • Engages with stakeholders to gather requirements and discusses ideas to support their needs;
  • Communicates user needs effectively to IT personnel and works jointly to design and implement project solutions;
  • Creates roadmaps, project plans, business requirements, test plans/scripts, and other deliverables to ensure that solutions are complete and accurate;
  • Plans and manages projects by identifying tasks, resource delivery timelines, milestones, deliverables, and success metrics;
  • Addresses challenges to project success, including proactively identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating with stakeholders;
  • Keeps projects on schedule using PM tools and techniques, including timelines and calendars;
  • Leads project status meetings with customers, stakeholders and project teams on a regular basis;
  • Researches and understands new and emerging technologies that are relevant to business needs;
  • Understands how stakeholders and customers conduct business and discovers ways to improve their processes, as well as the tools they use;
  • Conducts active follow-ups on project status and operational tasks;
  • Ensures that project and operational task updates are incorporated in relevant tools in a timely manner;
  • Creates and monitors metrics, usage reports and other measurements to evaluate effectiveness of information platforms and content; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Let's talk if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum 5+ years managing IT or legal practice technology projects;
  • General understanding of IT systems, networking and computer software;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools;
  • Proficiency with IT project management disciplines (Waterfall, Agile, SDLC, etc.);
  • Experience in Legal, Financial or Technology Consulting industries preferred;
  • Knowledge of Legal industry-specific software applications preferred, such as: document management, knowledge management, document review, contract analysis, enterprise search, time tracking, etc.);
  • Strong communication, problem solving, time management, and teamwork skills;
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, strong analytical skills and eagerness to take on responsibility and learn new skills;
  • Ability to manage priorities and adjust projects based on customer or management feedback;
  • High level of personal responsibility for delivering an excellent project management experience;
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, 24x7 technology department; and
  • Availability to work additional hours, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 to $180,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and discretionary bonus(es), we offer a generous employee benefits package including, but not limited to, paid time off, medical, dental, vision care, 401(k) and substantial health club discounts.
