This remote Title 1 funded position for Academic Administrator of Behavior and Instruction directs and coordinates behavioral and educational, administrative and counseling activities of students by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Ensure conformance of educational programs to local, state and federal laws as well as local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities.
  • Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards.
  • Identify appropriate evidence-based practices to support positive behaviors for students with disabilities across multiple settings.
  • Monitor and analyze campus-wide discipline data to recommend evidence-based strategies and plan and conduct in-service training based on school-specific needs.
  • Assist campus teams in developing classroom behavior intervention plan options for providing a safe and effective educational environment using evidence-based strategies for students with challenging behaviors that have been resistant to classroom systems of support.
  • Maintain certification as an instructor in de-escalation and crisis intervention training and provide division-wide training.
  • Identify appropriate curriculum and instructional resources for students with social/emotional deficits and provide on-going in-service training and monitoring to ensure fidelity of implementation and monitor effectiveness of selected curriculum and resources.
  • Collaborate with supervisor of special education-behavior to provide consultative support to staff on implementation and progress monitoring of behavioral interventions and supports for students with disabilities.
  • Provide training to families in understanding and supporting positive behavior strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Facilitate District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) responsive to campus and student need.
  • Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises up to 10 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in business, education or related field
  • Five years of educational experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Title 1 programs and requirements
  • Demonstrable leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); generally high level of Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

  • Behavior or crisis intervention experience
