Creative Learning Center is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and behavioral needs of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Instructional Support: Provide individualized support to students, promoting academic success and behavioral growth.
  • Treatment Plan Implementation: Implement behavior intervention plans using evidence-based ABA techniques.
  • Data Collection: Collect and track data on student progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, including charts and other relevant documentation.
  • Academic Reinforcement: Reinforce academic behaviors taught by licensed staff, providing students with opportunities to practice and apply new skills.
  • Community Support: Assist students in community, recreational, and leisure activities, promoting socialization and skill development.
  • De-Escalation and Restraint: Implement district-approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by building administration and licensed staff.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience working with children in a special needs education setting preferred but not required.
  • Collaboration and Feedback: Ability to collaborate and receive feedback, mentoring, and direction from peers and supervisors.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrated experience in maintaining a professional and clinical perspective at all times, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures, including stooping, reaching, standing, kneeling, squatting, sitting, walking, lifting, pulling, and grasping, for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting and Mobility: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
