Job Summary

Collin College is seeking a highly qualified Academic Dean to lead our workforce instructional programs. As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will be responsible for creating and managing budgets, ensuring compliance with college policies and external accreditation agencies, and building relationships with community leaders to further the academic mission of the institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead academic and/or workforce instructional programs, including curriculum development and assessment.
  • Create and manage budgets for academic divisions, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with college policies.
  • Ensure compliance with college policies, THECB, SACSCOC, and programmatic accreditation agencies.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, both within and outside of the college, to promote the academic mission of the institution.
  • Supervise the hiring of and provide ongoing training, mentoring support, and performance feedback for associate deans, discipline leads, directors, and division support staff.
  • Coordinate district-wide class schedules for assigned disciplines in collaboration with other deans.
  • Manage assigned support services and related facilities.
  • Remain knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with college policies and procedures, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board rules and regulations, SACS Commission on Colleges Principles of Accreditation in areas of responsibility, and other external program accreditation requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with student and administrative services personnel to promote student success.
  • Engage in professional development relevant to the performance of the essential duties of the position.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution. Doctoral degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of higher education administration and teaching experience, to include two (2) years full-time teaching experience and at least two (2) years of administrative-level experience.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of classroom evaluation procedures and best practices.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning process at Collin.
  • Knowledge of academic assessment.
  • Knowledge of SACSCOC principles/standards.
  • Knowledge of college mission, core values, strategic goals, Board policies, and academic best practices.
  • Knowledge of classroom teaching practices, assessment practices, classroom management practices, student learning styles, application of technology in a classroom environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements, Collin programs, industry trends/standards.
