Position Summary: Responsible for managing indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, fuel tax, unclaimed property reporting and property tax.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor indirect tax analyst.
  • Manage outside tax consultants.
  • Manage state and local indirect auditors.
  • Work with other departments to compile and analyze information to ensure proper tax treatment.
  • Review workpapers and complex calculations for property tax and sales & use tax.
  • Complete tax research as needed.
  • Assist tax department in tax planning opportunities.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Review indirect tax account reconciliations.
Educational and Other Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related, accredited field required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of previous related tax experience, oil & gas experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong, independent worker.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
  • Able to read, speak and write English.
  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.
  • Sitting - at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing - frequent
  • Bending/Stooping, twisting, lifting - occasional
  • Gripping, reaching, writing, fingering (data entry), handling (paper, files, etc.) - frequent
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time
  • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors

  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by manager.
