Responsibilities The Sr. Sales Tax Specialist will work with analysts and supervisors to manage the workflow and filing of Illinois transactional sales/use tax returns (ST-556 and RUT-25LSE), research and respond to various sales tax Inbox queries, manage the workflow and processing of tax thru bills for state to state address changes, verify and forward tax based customer adjustments, validate ACH D blocking codes, work with others to facilitate the timely filing and payment of sales tax returns, and perform various other functions related to return processing as needed, in addition to normal tax administrative functions. This employee works closely with all members of the Indirect Tax Department. What you will be doing: Work with Supervisor and others to identify and file tax returns (ST-556) for Illinois based off-lease vehicle sales and payoffs Maintain and balance ST-556 tracking log and create monthly sign-off file Work with Supervisor and others to identify and resolve Illinois based (individual vehicle) Use tax returns (RUT-25LSE) Receive, identify and record incoming Return Correction Notices for IL transactional returns Validate and/or Correct the IL calculations on correction notices (submit returns for payment or return to IL for further updates as needed) Balance outstanding items on the RUT-25 Tracking Log on a monthly basis and create a Snapshot tab for monthly sign-off Work with Supervisor and others to review and respond to various Inbox queries, to include: Lease Assumption based tax inquiries from the Lease Assumptions group Sales Tax Paid letter requests from customer service team(s) Process e-mails from Account Services of completed tasks Research and process changes and thru bills for lease based Interstate (state to state) changes Maintain and balance customer adjustment log as needed Research and/or contact sales tax jurisdictions to validate any changes in ACH-D debit blocking codes Maintain and update Debit Block Code log as needed Assist in filing other compliance based sales tax returns in a timely manner as needed Assist in responding to jurisdiction notices in a timely manner as needed Qualifications What makes you a dream candidate?
