The Information Security Specialist is responsible for protecting the company's information assets by implementing and maintaining security measures. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, developing security protocols, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
 

This is a hybrid position in St. Paul, MN. You must be located in the St. Paul, MN area. This position is NOT remote.

While no day will be completely the same, you will execute daily responsibilities in these various functions:
 

Essential Functions 

  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security breaches.
  • Maintain and update security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats to information systems.
  • Recommend and implement mitigation strategies to reduce security risks.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
  • Lead the response to security incidents, including data breaches and malware infections.
  • Assist the Director of Technology in all Informational Security related tasks and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, systems, and technologies.
  • Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds in accordance with hardware
