About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Analyst to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a key member of our Enterprise Security team, you will play a critical role in mitigating threats to our information systems and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and update information system security policies, guidelines, and technical standards.
  • Experience with one or more operating systems, preferably Linux.
  • Programming skills in one or more languages, such as Java,.NET, or C++.
  • Develop software using software development methodologies, such as Agile.
  • Knowledge of and experience with information security standards, including NIST, ISO 27001/17799, COBIT, ITIL, data privacy laws, computer crime laws, and statewide data protection laws.
  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Requirements
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an information security related role.
  • A master's degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR a related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR a related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and certifications such as CISSP, CCE, GSFI, ENCE, GSEC, or CISSP.
