What you'll be doing:

  • Size, select, and engineer process valves, actuators, and/or instrumentation to address customers problems and applications.
  • Gather information from customers and teammates to determine the best technical and commercial solution for each opportunity.
  • Regularly interact with customers, providing exceptional service and establishing long term mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Develop and apply valuable expertise about Caltrol’s solutions
  • Support internal customers (Account Managers, Order Management, Accounting, Shop) to provide support and efficient execution of customer orders.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Account Managers and Business Unit Leaders on key opportunities to determine Caltrol’s scope and sales strategy.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with Caltrol’s principal suppliers.
  • Follow up on quotations, demonstrating an ability to close sales.
Caltrol U Rotational Program Highlights:
  • Residences in Caltrol's offices in Southern CA, Northern CA, Chandler, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV.
  • Program duration is up to 4 months including paid travel and living expenses.
  • Exposure to Caltrol's primary business units and valve disciplines including Flow Controls, Isolation & Actuation, Mechanical Services, Pressure Management, and Process Systems & Solutions, Project Execution, and Sales.
  • Mentorship and training from Caltrol's subject matter experts.
  • Visits to key process industry facilities served by Caltrol.
  • Learn and gain exposure to Caltrol’s and Emerson’s product offerings.
What we are looking for:
  • College degree with a STEM focus and/or demonstration of general technical sales competency.
  • Strong customer, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Team attitude and willingness to coordinate projects internally.
  • Ability to handle special assignments and schedule demanding workload to meet customer deadlines.
Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $31.00-$36.00 p/hour plus Quarterly Profit Sharing. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

Expected Hours / Work Schedule:

The job is full time, scheduled Monday-Friday. Employee is expected to be available during normal business hours, starting no later than 9:00 am, and staying until at least 3:30 pm. This position is eligible for Caltrol’s hybrid work program allowing remote work for up to two days per week, subject to program qualifications. Application Engineers will be on call occasionally outside of standard business hours as scheduled by the After-Hours program manager, which may require coming into the office and/or working remotely to resolve customer issues.

Physical Demands:

This job will require significant amounts of sitting. A standing desk may be available if accommodations are required. This job requires the use of a computer and a telephone.

Travel:

Must be willing to travel throughout the Caltrol territory (AZ, CA, NV) as needed. Travel might require overnights.
