**Inside Sales Engineer Role and Responsibilities**

The Inside Sales Engineer will be responsible for generating new and repeat sales while increasing sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and services, as well as offering promotional sale items.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Generate new and repeat sales while increasing sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and services, as well as offering promotional sale items
  • Suggest alternative products based on cost, availability, or specifications, and provide product and technical information promptly
  • Proactively recommend appropriate products and solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns in IAC's NetSuite CRM/ERP and our manufacturers
  • Provide precise information on the availability of in-stock items and maintain customer and contact records up to date in NetSuite CRM/ERP
  • Follow up with customers to review quotations, ensure expectations are met, and perform ongoing follow-ups to address any concerns
  • Fulfill requests for catalogs, information, or samples, and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure prompt delivery
  • Stay updated on consumer preferences through sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals, and educate customers about product terminology, features, and benefits

**Qualifications and Profile**

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and profile:

  • Minimum Associate degree in a technical field or business concentration
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is a plus
  • At least 2 years in a similar position is preferable
  • At least 1 year in a progressive role (2 years preferred)
  • Product/applications experience is necessary
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and distribution software
  • Experience in wholesale distribution is a bonus, knowledge of industrial and municipal markets is advantageous
  • Strong customer service, time management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members
