NCC is seeking a dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to lead the management and expansion of the NCC professional development programming. The Senior Director of Leadership Development is responsible for the stewardship and growth of professional development programming for charter school leaders of color, particularly those of single-site charter schools. This position will successfully accomplish the professional development curriculum goals by working creatively and strategically with Black, Brown, and Indigenous charter school leaders.  The Senior Director of Leadership Development will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Director, Leadership Professional Development's primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to (percentages are estimates of how a person might spend their time):

Strategic Leadership and Program Development (50%)

  • Lead the development and implementation of intensive fellowship and mentorship programming, including the Manati Fellowship Program and other collaborative partnerships
  • Cultivate relationships with partners and stakeholders to support the program's success
  • Create and implement strategies to increase professional development engagement
  • Work with the NCC leadership to finalize a professional development theory of action and curriculum
  • Stay abreast of developments and best practices in the K-12 ecosystem by building trusting relationships with instructional leaders across the country
  • Refine and establish measurable, achievable program area goals and objectives on an annual basis and monitor progress

Leadership Development Supports (25%)

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute high-quality professional development sessions based on network needs
  • Ensure the coordination, logistics, and delivery of programs and related activities (both virtual and in-person experiences) meet or exceed the expectations of leaders, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate a collaborative, rigorous, and right-sized process to recruit, select, onboard, and evaluate consultants for each program

Program Management and Evaluation (15%)

  • Collect and analyze program management data to drive continuous improvement
  • Report data on membership trends and engagement on a quarterly basis
  • Develop and execute program evaluation, analysis, reflection, and revision cycle

Relationship Management (10%)

  • Cultivate and maintain strong and effective relationships with school leaders, partners, and stakeholders
  • Provide exceptional customer service to NCC members and potential members

WHAT YOU BRING TO NCC

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of successful program development and management, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • At least 5 years of experience coaching/consulting individuals and teams to achieve exemplary outcomes in adult learning
  • Demonstrated knowledge of K-12 education and leader-level professional development needs
  • Exceptional educator with the ability to design, discuss, and model pedagogical best practices seeking to center equity and inclusion in all aspects
  • Proven track record of developing and executing program evaluation and continuous improvement cycles
  • Experience designing and leading high-quality adult professional development, capacity building, and coaching across multiple organizations
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills with success in cultivating long-term partnerships
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create an environment of trust, understanding, and collective commitment
  • Ability to execute efficiently and with purpose; dedicated attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented problem solving
  • Ability to facilitate discussions among diverse stakeholders
