Provide program leadership for the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) College program, which has a primary mission to support students in the JAG high school program in meeting their career and postsecondary educational goals. The JAG College & Career Readiness Coordinator (CCR Coordinator) is responsible for program oversight, development, and implementation, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, budget and data management and reporting, and employer, faculty and partner/stakeholder engagement for the grant-funded JAG College initiative within the Ivy Tech South Bend/Elkhart Service Area. The coordinator provides leadership and supervision for the development and coordination of the JAG College professional development, employer networking and supportive services components. The coordinator assists multiple departments in the implementation of the recruitment plan for the campus and is responsible for participating in recruitment activities, both on- and off-campus.

This is a grant-funded position through the end of the grant period (June 2025).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in collaboration and cooperation with the Director of K-14 and Indiana Department of Workforce Development to develop program goals and objectives that are in line with statewide initiatives and provides leadership in and/or carries out the implementation of these goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with JAG Specialists, teachers, counselors, and administrators at area high schools regarding students in their junior and senior years of high school to begin the process of relationship development to support the transition process to postsecondary education to the College.

• Acts as a support resource for students in the JAG College program.

• Deliver services, either virtually or in-person or serve as liaison with Ivy Tech programs such as: information sessions, campus tours, admissions, assessment testing, advising, orientation sessions, registration, transcript, and financial aid resources for students and families in the service area recruiting region.

• Advocates for students in the JAG College program both with internal Ivy Tech employees and external stakeholders, when appropriate and within the guidelines of FERPA regulations.

• Connect with JAG student cohort as campus mentor.

• Create a learning community among the students being served through this program that builds a sense of belonging and offers peer-to-peer mentoring and leadership development opportunities.

• Serves as the liaison between Ivy Tech and the Indiana Department for Workforce Development regarding JAG initiatives.

• Engages employers and workforce development stakeholders in meaningful and mutually beneficial collaborations.

• Manages stakeholder communication via in-person meetings, written programs, newsletters/updates, and online communications.

• Ensures broad awareness and engagement of key employers, workforce development stakeholders, staffing firms and industry associations and networking groups.

• Represents Ivy Tech and DWD at community partnership meetings, workforce development events, and economic development initiatives. • Evaluation & Data Management.

• Identifies and tracks program outcomes and indicators via the JAG National Data Base (e-NDMS) and appropriate Ivy Tech systems.

• Ensures program design and strategy supports the overarching program goals, outcomes, and targets.

• Monitors student data and provides monthly, quarterly, and annual updates to the Director of ASAP.

• Use a facilitated online learning methodology (Ivy Prep) in which students engage in self-directed, computer-based modules that focus on developing skills in math, reading, and writing with one-on-one support so students can develop the skills necessary to place directly into college level courses without taking additional remediation;

• Track student progress, attainment and implement individual development plans as needed

• Assist students in college selection and access to academic advisement including but not limited to the K-14 Director of Transition or Ivy Tech Academic Advisory for college degree attainment and/or Ivy Tech credential;

• Provide instruction for summer programming in each assigned school/cohort of students (College Readiness, Ivy Prep, IVYT 111) as applicable;

• Connect with matriculated JAG student cohort (between 25-40 students) either on-campus or virtually as campus mentor (fall);

• Host JAG CSP student orientation day as applicable fall and spring;

• Meet with individual students (as needed throughout the year);

• Host, at minimum two (2) student enrichment workshops (fall and spring semesters);

• Coordinate student financial support efforts (ongoing, upon request);

• Host spring semester orientation day for new and returning students (January);

• Provide monthly progress reports to Ivy Tech and DWD by the 10th of each month, September 2024- May 2025;

• Complete annual report for Ivy Tech and DWD (June) which includes but is not limited to student persistence rates by year and semester, comparison of applicable student groups as data is available, credit attempt and attainment rates, and positive outcome rates;

• Assist in grant writing process for future funding (ongoing);

• Attend meetings and professional development trainings hosted by Ivy Tech and DWD (ongoing);

• Provide feedback to all participating entities that will result in the continuous improvement of the program (ongoing).

• Deliver services, either virtually or in-person or serve as liaison with Ivy Tech programs such as: information sessions, campus tours, admissions, knowledge assessment testing, advising, orientation sessions, registration, transcript, and financial aid resources for students and families in the South Bend/Elkhart campus recruiting area;

Compensation: $50,000

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in education, psychology, student personnel, management, business, or related field required.

• One to two years' experience in educational programing serving diverse student populations (preferably secondary and/or postsecondary public institution).

• Experience in teaching, counseling, advising, case management, workforce development, or related field.

• Must demonstrate excellent communication and team building skills, the ability to be decisive, and provide leadership in a community college setting.
• Must be able to work well with people from various social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.

• Knowledge of computer applications and familiarity with computerized records systems required.

• Passion for seeing students succeed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, student personnel, management, business, or related field.

• Not-for-profit management experience.

• Previous knowledge of the JAG program or experience with the JAG student population or similar student population.

• Previous knowledge of Ivy Tech Community College programs and credentials offered.

• The ability to put ideas to work and cultivate individual plans tailored to the needs of individual students.

The initial funding for this position is co-funded by Ivy Tech and DWD. Based on high-level performance standards, the opportunity to gain additional funding for multiple years is expected. This position will provide the capacity needed to consistently achieve high-level student outcomes based on retention, degree attainment, and connection to the workforce
