The Employment Readiness Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering pre-employment transition services to students with disabilities aged 14-21. This position is essential in guiding students through job exploration, work-based learning experiences, post-secondary education opportunities, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate directly with a designated group of students and young adults with disabilities to develop pre-employment skills, facilitate a smooth transition from high school, and prepare for competitive employment.
  • Lead students and their families through a structured 7-module program effectively.
  • Support families in navigating community resources and services such as Medicaid, SSI, DSPD, and vocational rehabilitation.
  • Foster and maintain connections with prominent disability advocacy organizations, service providers, educational institutions, and various governmental and non-profit entities.
  • Track and monitor each participant's progress within the program, providing monthly updates to the program Director.
  • Assist in the quarterly evaluation of program outcomes for funding agencies.
  • Actively participate as a member of the program team, attending all necessary meetings and collaborative sessions.
  • Work closely with both internal and external partners to ensure the success of students and their families within the program.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data tracking.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in social work, special education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities in vocational, residential, or employment settings is advantageous.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record are required.
  • Successful completion of an initial criminal background check and annual renewals is mandatory.
  • ACRE certification must be obtained within six months of hire, along with the completion of all annual training requirements.
