Your Impact Involvement in the design of electrical power supply systems mining, water and tailings projects Contribute to projects with a major focus on project delivery, identifying potential problems and managing client expectations Prepare specifications, reports, calculations, and technical evaluations Support technical and project execution activities such as electrical equipment procurement packages, preparing project estimates, etc. Liaise with internal and external clients regularly to ensure project objectives are being managed and achieved in alignment with expectations Provide direction and markups to CAD drafters on equipment layouts, single line diagrams, connection diagrams, grounding, conduit, etc. Mentor junior engineers Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. 12+ years of relevant post education experience, preferably in an EPC environment Effective communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of all phases of engineering (conceptual stage through to detail design) Experience with power system analysis, grounding design and lighting design software applications Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
