About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Electrical Engineering Department Leader to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Engineering Directorate, you will be responsible for leading the Effector RF Products Department, which is primarily responsible for designing, integrating, and sustaining state-of-the-art effector electrical subsystems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to Section Leads, Chief Engineers, IPTLs, REAs, and individual contributors within the department to ensure effective communications and program execution.
  • Responsible for reviewing proposals and utilizing EVMS techniques (EACs, LREs, IMS) to manage programs.
  • Ensure appropriate staff development through effective performance management, including goal setting, career development, compensation, employee learning, and developmental task assignments.
  • Provide engineering oversight to programs supported by the department through the planning and leadership of project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers.
  • Lead and manage department staff, recruiting, hiring, retaining, and developing effective engineers and engineering leaders.
  • Create, capture, and analyze metrics to manage associated organizational and program performance.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Physics, or a related engineering degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of prior work experience.
  • 12+ years of engineering experience, to include at least 6 years of leadership roles (i.e., technical and/or management background).
  • Work experience with RF product and subassembly analysis, design, integration, and production support.
  • Experience with EVMS, development of budgets, task planning milestone development, and budget management.
  • Experience in design compliance during design/development and production.
  • Experience with cost, schedule, and performance tools for managing projects and program planning.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related engineering degree.
  • Expert knowledge and experience leading a multi-disciplined department.
  • Systems engineering thought process with analytical skills background.
  • Antenna Systems - Antenna System Analysis, Array Analysis, Electromagnetic Analysis, Signal Level Analysis, Assembly, Integration, and Test.
  • RF/Microwave Design - Simulation and Layout, Passive Circuits, Amplifiers, Component Test, Material Characterization.
  • Antenna Design - Radiating Elements, Radomes/Frequency Selective Surfaces, Simulation and Layout, and Antenna Test.
  • Able to network/influence outside of the ERFP Department with other design and production support organizations, program leadership, other engineering disciplines, and Manufacturing organizations.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with peers, suppliers, management, and customers in development and production environments.
  • Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success.
  • Ability to effectively work multiple tasks and priorities.
