What's the opportunity?

The Associate Director, New Product Planning will report into the Vice President, New Products Planning. This role will drive key business decisions by providing data driven strategic input to shape the commercial strategy of research and clinical stage projects. The position will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders across the organization including research, development, , clinical development, clinical operations, regulatory and business development. The individual will leverage his or her deep understanding of the target markets, customers and competition to inform the commercial strategy development and planning for the portfolio and will ultimately be responsible for developing the target product profiles, competitive intelligence, and overseeing the implementation of critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cross-functionally with exploratory and asset evaluation teams to conduct rigorous market assessments on key disease areas and opportunities
  • Provide commercial input and strategic guidance to target ID and valuation teams to help inform target selection and validation
  • Communicate key disease area/market insights to relevant internal stakeholders, identifying considerations and implications for Fog's pipeline
  • Understand and communicate requirements for reimbursement and differentiation to ensure successful commercialization of pipeline assets
  • Anticipate paradigm shifts, gaps in internal understanding of target diseases identify areas on unmet need and improve market understanding through regular market research, market intelligence and market tracking
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain Target Product Profiles (TPPs) for early portfolio assets
  • Develop and maintain strong, internal partnerships with cross-functional colleagues (e.g. research, clinical, business development, etc.)
  • Inform the development of forecast assumptions for financial models
  • Provide commercial input on business development asset evaluations
What you'll need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent required
  • PhD or advanced degree in Health Sciences highly desired
  • Minimum 6-8 years of commercial experience in biotech inclusive of market analytics, new product planning and brand marketing preferred OR
  • Minimum 6-8 years of life science consulting primarily on strategy consulting projects desired
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of oncology therapeutic area experience required
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude with the ability to understand complex scientific/medical concepts.
  • Understanding of the R&D process and importance of integrating commercial and development strategy and plans
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to synthesize and communicate data and research outputs to formulate marketing recommendations and inform strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, with an entrepreneurial mind-set and a track record of results
  • Resourceful, decisive and proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-growing organization
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
