Job Title: Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

The Harvard Library is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team. As a key member of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, you will play a critical role in leading the library in financial planning, analysis, and guidance on matters including budgeting, forecasting, capital project planning, fund management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the FP&A team in developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the library.
  • Collaborate with library leadership to identify financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate or capitalize on them.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support financial planning and analysis.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to library budget managers and other stakeholders.
  • Manage a budget portfolio consisting of quarterly financial analysis, reporting, meeting, and FTE management.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to inform library leadership and to aid in decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 8 years' relevant work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of budget management, financial analysis, financial modeling, and accounting principles.
  • Harvard financial administrative systems (HUBS, SmartView, Oracle, CAPS, CPATH, PeopleSoft) knowledge and experience a plus.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment, define objectives, set tasks, build relationships, and achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well within a large and complex organization, and ability to build strong relationships with constituents and provide services and information to meet their needs.

Benefits:

Work Format:

This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.

All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only).

Annual Salary Range: $102,300 - $179,100
