Quality Assurance Lead

The Quality Assurance Lead, epay North America, will be responsible for ensuring our software engineering quality best practices and procedures are followed. This role is a hybrid role between Senior QA Analysts and QA Manager. The person in the role will be the functional leader of the QA team and will also be available to do QA testing on critical projects as needed. This person will need to be able to develop and execute test cases as well as coach other QA analysts in those same tasks. A primary goal of the Quality Assurance Lead will help re-establish the expectations of the QA team and ensure their skills align with our KPI’s.

 This role will be instrumental in improving epay’s automation testing capabilities. The QA Lead will need to have experience using Selenium or similar automation testing tools. The role will include improving existing automated tests and developing automated tests for other key systems that are currently being manually tested. The QA Lead should be able to author automated tests as well as hire, train, and evaluate and mentor automated testing QA analysts.

Hands-on QA analysis

  • Step into time critical projects and work as QA analyst to meet timelines.
  • Work directly with team members on daily QA tasks to ensure they have the knowledge and skillset to complete the needed testing.
  • Improve / Add to epay’s automated testing capabilities.

Process management and monitoring

  • Lead efforts to for process training, adoption and adherence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality checkpoints into product development and project processes.
  • Conduct frequent audits and inspections of defects and resolution.
  • Assist with investigating and addressing root causes of quality issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and decrease quality risks.

Team development and management

  • Foster a culture of quality excellence that empowers employees to contribute to quality improvement efforts.
  • Promote training and learning sessions across the team.
  • Provide real time feedback.

Reporting and documentation

  • Maintain and report on quality control activities and performance data to key stakeholders.
  • Showcase data leveraging on work management tool (Jira)
  • Implement quality metric-based reports that can drive continuous improvement within the QA team.

Knowledge Base:

  • Continue to be knowledgeable of industry best practices and technologies.
  • Establish strong technical aptitude of our applications and workflows

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline 
    • 10+ years of Quality Assurance experience
    • Experience working with Selenium or similar automated testing tools.
    • Prior management experience
    • Experience working with agile methodologies.
    • Experience with Atlassian Tools
    • High sense of personal responsibility, a self-starter, and capable of both working independently and as part of the team
    • Ability to maintain composure, while providing exemplary customer service to internal clients
    • Ability to ask relevant questions regarding business issues to both technical and non-technical team members in a clear and concise manner.
    • Detail oriented, highly organized, and excellent follow-up skills.
    • Train and coach the team members including goal setting and evaluations with collaboration from the Delivery Managers
