Position Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager - Costing & Operations, the Cost Analyst role is a critical partner in our operations finance team & is responsible for providing financial analysis to support leadership decision-making, including month-end close, periodic financial reports, and forecasting / budget, and ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. To be successful, the Cost Analyst interacts with the various corporate departments, international sales offices, and manufacturing teams.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for preparing Operations financial reporting for manufacturing plants and executive leadership.
  • Supply clear and precise commentary on key drivers & business trends to further financial knowledge across the organization.
  • Support ongoing reviews of data accuracy in preparation for the accounting close.
  • Supports setup and maintenance of material master data and costing.
  • Prepares costing inputs for regional margin analysis reports.
  • Analyzes and maintains material standard pricing.
  • Execution of periodic standard cost update.
  • Provides inventory and cost analysis in support of the Sales & Operations planning process.
  • Supports financial and tax audits.
  • Supports COGS and Operations capital budget process and forecasting through building templates and financial models and consolidating budget submissions.
  • Determines and recommends cost-effective solutions.
  • Assists with various ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of finance or business analysis experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of controls, compliance, and risk management
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve company performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable communicating with non-native English speakers
Preferred:
  • CMA or CPA designation
  • Working experience with SAP
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment characteristics are those consistent with a standard office environment.

Positions in this class typically require typing, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Schedule Requirements

This position is expected to work within core business hours.

Travel Requirements

This position is a hybrid role that offers a flexible schedule including being on-site in Eden Prairie, MN with the Accounting and Finance team.
