Were Hiring in New Bern, NC We are seeking a Transitional Living Specialist to join our dedicated team at our transitional living home for male youth. This is a pivotal role in supporting young men as they navigate life after leaving youth development centers or other residential placements. Salary: $43,000+, based on education and experience. What is a Transitional Living Home? MHCs Transitional Living Homes offer a supportive, structured environment for teens on probation who cannot return home safely. During their 6-12 month stay, youth work towards finishing school, setting career goals, obtaining jobs, earning their drivers licenses, and learning life skills like budgeting, cooking, and managing bills. What Youll Do: As a Transitional Living Specialist, you will: Provide comprehensive case management to support youth in their transition to independent living. Facilitate vocational training and assist in setting education and career goals. Coordinate Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, ensuring collaboration between all stakeholders. Monitor and document each residents progress, creating a tailored transition plan during their residential placement. Serve as a mentor and community advocate, connecting residents with local resources for vocational opportunities. Guide youth through aftercare services for up to six months post-placement, providing essential support as they transition to independence. Are You Qualified? Must be at least 21 years old. Hold a Bachelors Degree (preferably in a human services field) with at least two years of experience working with a similar population. Possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts when needed. Why Work for MHC?
