Multi-office, solidly established, international, boutique analytics-focused hedge fund is looking for an experienced financial professional to join its growing organization as a Tax Director. This is a key financial role responsible for managing all aspects of tax matters within the company. You oversee corporate income tax (CIT), indirect taxes, VAT, and tax forecasts. The Tax Director collaborates with internal teams on a wide variety of strategic and transactional issues, manages external tax advisors, and coordinates with investors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and accurate financial reporting.
Currently working Hybrid with Four (4) Days Weekly in the firm's SoHo Office.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field required (Master's preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is advantageous.
- Minimum of Eight (8) years of Relevant Experience in Tax Management.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance.
- Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Tax Compliance:
- Coordinate and participate in tax audits and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government finance regulations.
- File and maintain required forms, including payroll taxes and deposits.
- Prepare and analyze tax forecasts.
- Manage tax transactions, including CIT and indirect taxes.
- Coordinate with tax accountants on annual tax returns.
- Assist in preparing the company's annual operating and capital budget.
- Monitor tax implications of financial decisions.
- Collaborate with the finance team to align tax strategies with overall financial goals.
- Assess tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Implement policies and procedures for tax reporting.
- Analyze tax implications of business operations.
- Provide insights on tax-efficient strategies.
- Work closely with upper management to optimize tax planning.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax preparers.
- Lead collaboration with CPA firms for effective tax planning.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
