GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store and the general operations and supervision of the Store as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors open and close the Store, supervise Associates, and maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation and a clean work area at all times. Area Supervisors execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

Understands safety is the top priority and practices safe behaviors. Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment. Corrects or reports any unsafe conditions to Store Leadership. Responsible for building security including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, Cash Office security, and more. Removes clutter to ensure safe emergency exits. Responsible for Customer safety, accident prevention, and emergency procedures. Tests fire alarm systems as scheduled and responds to after-hours alarms. Customer Service: Treats all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism. Recognizes Associates using Company programs. Personal and Store Brand: Represents and supports the Company brand. Maintains a professional appearance according to Company Dress Code. Keeps all areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard. Responsible for daily trash removal. General Merchandising: Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards. Responsible for receiving merchandise truck when needed. Processes merchandise urgently. Responsible for receipt of non-merchandise deliveries. Responsible for Stockroom cleanliness and organization. Helps place merchandise on sales floor. Responsible for back-stock processing. Ensures compliance with monthly presentation guidelines. Responsible for floor moves, signing, and re-wraps. Loss Prevention: Understands and complies with Loss Prevention Awareness Program. Responsible for Store Loss Prevention. Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions. Ensures proper maintenance of PVM system. Conducts package inspections and executes Best Practices. Front End Supervision and Operations: Executes Best Practices and maximizes productivity. Maintains pace and energy at the Front End. Trains Associates on cash registers and Front End procedures. Controls Retail Associates' break schedule. Ensures equipment is working and supplies are maintained. Ensures go backs are handled properly. Teaches Associates best practices. Ensures merchandise salability on the Front End. Fitting Rooms: Responsible for Fitting Rooms maintenance. Ensures garment tags are audited and accounted for. Ensures go-back compliance. Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager: Ensures Cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted. Responsible for Front End control. Handles payroll administration. Other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES: Manages Work Processes Business Acumen Plans, Aligns & Prioritizes Builds Talent Collaborates Leading by Example Communicates Effectively Ensures Accountability & Execution QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to work evenings and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: Ability to use all Store equipment. Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Retail Associates Stockroom Leads (where applicable)
