This role will interpret International Trade Regulations and apply them as necessary; provide guidance and requirements to personnel concerning international trade regulations; ensure proper use of export authorizations (licenses/agreements, exemptions, exceptions, etc.); determine and document classification designation for parts, equipment, and technology; complete required recordkeeping; maintain knowledge of and stays current on regulatory changes; and review contracts for global trade requirements. Responsible for all divisions under the 3001-company code. Process all export orders as well as import & export transportation duties. Primary Responsibilities: Primarily focus on compliance for Imports, Exports, Dangerous Goods, and Supply Chain Security; including day-to-day tasks for specific shipments/workflows, as well as strategic planning to improve processes, programs, and systems for improved compliance and business efficiency. Maintain training, certifications and attend regular meetings for the compliance areas of focus. Work with multiple software systems such as SAP, Microsoft (especially excel), government systems (ACE, etc.) websites, etc. for shipment analysis as well as business analytics/reporting. Provide data and reports regarding the performance of compliance functions within the business unit. Review inbound shipping to ensure import compliance. Review outbound shipping to ensure export compliance. Review inbound and outbound shipping to ensure dangerous goods compliance, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation. Review business unit practices ensuring supply chain security compliance, including adherence to C-TPAT, EU AEO, and other internal/external regulatory requirements based on customer needs. Represent the logistics and supply chain function in internal and external compliance audits Occasionally hosting individual/classroom training sessions on compliance issues Trouble-shoot logistics issues to obtain results: compliance, transportation and customer satisfaction. Maintain day-to-day projects of varying scopes. Perform post-entry audit of Customs entry documents for proper HTS classification, value, and quantity. Execute the company's First Sale program by collecting commercial invoices Manage HTS classification of goods/products and trade programs, and work with the Customs broker and external advisors daily. Serve as the primary point of contact for the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) National Accounts Manager. Assist in the review of new products and determine the proper HTS classification. Collect supporting documentation required for classification and maintain records for future reference. Record the appropriate HTS classification in internal systems and distribute to Customs Broker for proper import filing. Keep informed of international events and changes to laws and requirements that may impact operations. Other duties and tasks as assigned. Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Operations, Business Administration or other applicable fields or equivalent work experience. Knowledge / training: Supply Chain certification is a plus to the position. Experienced with Federal Trade Commission country of origin. An advanced understanding of international business, logistics and supply chain functions, trade compliance (Export and Import) rules and regulations. Experience: 5-8 years of experience in work directly related to import/export regulations. Advanced knowledge of international trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and U.S. Customs regulations (ACE system). Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong organizational skills, multitasking, and problem-solving, maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It must be an individual with a customer service orientation.
