Core Responsibilities:

GIS Management:

  • City GIS Solutions: Oversee web applications, SQL scripting, and related tasks.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Offer insights and support for reporting, analytics, and dashboards.

Mapping and Data Evaluation:

  • Data Handling: Gather, organize, enhance, and integrate GIS and Fire Department data.
  • Technical Support: Assist team members in executing mapping and data analysis projects.
  • Map Production: Create maps for various departmental initiatives.
  • Spatial Data Analysis: Maintain data layers and tables using advanced GIS technologies.
  • Visual Data Representation: Develop detailed visualizations, including analytical models and 3D graphics.
  • E911 Data Coordination: Edit and manage data for Dispatch provider, ensuring compliance with NG911 standards.

Administrative Duties:

  • System Maintenance: Conduct repairs and manage application upkeep.
  • User Assistance: Provide technical support for GIS databases and applications.
  • Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and availability of system reports.
  • SOP Development: Assist in the creation and documentation of technology-related procedures.
  • Project Support: Contribute to GIS and Fire Department technical projects.
  • Communication: Collaborate with customer agencies and participate in technical meetings.
  • Professional Growth: Stay informed through literature, education, and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, Cartography, or a related discipline.
  • One year of experience with ESRI software, specifically ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online.
  • Or a suitable combination of education, training, and experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with local, state, or federal government.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and/or SSRS.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Technologically skilled with tools like Excel and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
