Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Space Systems Engineer for the 96 Cyberspace Test Group (96 CTG) contract, supporting the Astrion Air Force Division on the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 45 TS / TGAB.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full Time

TRAVEL: 20% CONUS / OCONUS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Technical BS Degree and 3-10 years of applicable experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • An active Secret security clearance is required for consideration with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. (U.S. Citizenship Required)
  • Relevant technical experience in at least one of the following fields: space operations, astrodynamics and space sensors
  • Ability to interface with prime contractors developing the system under test (SUT) regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others
  • Experience writing programs or scripts for simulation, data parsing, data reduction, automated testing or test scripts
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or other data visualization and computational tools
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., FORTRAN, Java, Python, C/C++), or with software development, most notably service-oriented architecture or web services and computer network protocols

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience as a Radar Operator and/or Remote Sensing and Intelligence.
  • Experience with AF DCGS operations
  • Knowledge of, or experience with Program Management.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with Air Force and Space Force Testing or other DoD test agency concepts, procedures and methodologies.
  • Experience related to DOD C4ISR system acquisition, systems engineering, and test engineering.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with AGILE Software Development and test concepts, procedures and methodologies.
  • Experience interfacing with development contractors regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.
  • A current and active Top Secret Security Clearance with Special Compartmented Information (SCI) access is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides technical leadership and frequently serves as the technical authority technical authority for ground based radars, USSF Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • Supports testing of the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System including SIGINT, IMINT Full Motion Video, and High Altitude Intelligence Operations.
  • Conducts data analysis and applies knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff. These tasks include test and evaluation, test support, logistics, sustainment, operations analyses, technical studies, and various analyses and support activities including program/system security.
  • Assists in the development of system requirements, performance measures, test phase entry/exit criteria, and analysis of design constraints functional capabilities, and metrics.
  • Supports AGILE software development and testing in contractor facilities.
  • Supports DT&E, Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and certification for test readiness; identifies deficiencies, verifies compliance with specifications and standards, and assesses stability of various system configurations.
  • Supports senior engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other services, and development contractors.
  • Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develops and writes Test Plans, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), test cases, test objectives/procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, analysis and review of requirements, and other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.
  • Coordinates schedules, pre-and post-test activities, logistics of test planning, and test results.
  • Travels up to 20% of time to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations (OCONUS and CONUS).
