Position: IT Systems Engineer
Rate: Open to Mid or Sr. level
- Mid: 40-55/hr OR Sr: 55-70/hr
Length: 6+ Month Rolling Contract – High potential to extend and/or convert full time
Location: Eglin AFB - 1701 State Road 85 North, Eglin AFB, FL 32542
Shift: four 10 hour shifts – Monday-Thursday schedule
Scope of Work:
- Manage the patching process for the organization's Windows servers Linux Servers, leveraging tools like Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), WSUS, Ivanti, or Satellite Server
- Automate the deployment of Windows/Linux updates and patches to ensure timely and consistent patching across the environment.
- Work closely with the Automation Engineer to integrate the patching workflows and leverage common automation tools and scripts.
- Provide expertise in Windows server management and patching best practices.
Must Haves:
Windows OR Linux (open to different versions)
Patching Experience
Secret Clearance minimum (interim acceptable)
Security + CE Certification
Nice to Haves:
1. RMF
2. IT Security
Description:
Experience Needed:
- Solid experience in Windows server administration, with a focus on patching and update management.
- Familiarity with WSUS and SCCM, or similar Windows server management tools – not needing to nail down specific tooling
- Strong technical skills and the ability to adapt to different patching tools and processes.
- Willingness to collaborate with the Automation Engineer to streamline and automate the patching workflows.
- Preference for candidates with a server administration background, but openness to considering those with a cyber security background who have the necessary Windows server expertise.
- Consideration for more junior candidates (2-4 years of experience) who have the right technical foundation and enthusiasm to grow into the role.
Desired Skill
- Experience applying RMF (or DIACAP) to DoD IT systems.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- System Administration experience.
- Experience with DISA IAVMs and STIGs.
- Experience with HBSS/EPO, PowerShell and/or BASH scripting.
