JOB SUMMARY The Director of Events will lead the event strategy, planning, and execution for one of the most well-respected commercial real estate brokerage firms in the US. This position plays a critical role in developing and executing a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with our business objectives and ensures impactful experiences for our team and clients across the country. This role is responsible for internal team events, industry conferences, and tradeshows. REPORTS TO Chief Marketing Officer WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH Strategic thinking with the ability to align event content, goals, and objectives with thematic development. Exceptional vendor management skills, including RFP process, budgeting, and logistics coordination. Experience forecasting, preparing budgets, and managing costs. Virtual event experience, a plus. Self-starter mindset who proactively pursues the advancement of team goals. Strong leadership that leads to exceptional problem solving. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and oversee a national events strategy that supports our business goals and objectives. Includes identifying key event opportunities, leveraging technology, enhancing the attendee experience, and establishing metrics to measure success for all events nationally. Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and goals. Work in partnership to create valuable experiences for our clients and employees. Drive consistency nationally. Develop end-to-end event plans to ensure flawless execution from start to finish. Produce detailed event planning timelines and track progress. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise. Identify and manage relationships with external vendors, including caterers, audio-visual suppliers, technology providers, etc. Negotiate contracts, oversee budgets, and ensure high-quality partnerships. Develop and manage the events budget. Make strategic recommendations to optimize the use of resources. Lead event planning meetings. Includes thematic development, defining agenda, acquiring speakers and vendors, planning activities and menus, managing invites and attendance, travel arrangements, etc. Support event communication and marketing plan. Conduct post-event reporting and surveys. Suggest recommendations for continuous improvement, including cost and process efficiency. Provide event best practices, coaching, and support to local marketing teams. Stay in-the-know on market, retail, and competitor trends to contribute to giving SRS a competitive advantage. Serve as a brand ambassador—ensuring that all communications and events enhance the SRS brand and are consistent with brand guidelines. Industry Events Partner with ICSC and industry organizations for annual programs and partnerships to increase SRS exposure while getting the most from our investment. Identify key event opportunities where SRS could benefit from an industry or tradeshow presence. Responsible for booth design, logistics, staffing, and training for presence at the shows. Partner with PR for sponsorship and speaking opportunities for the company. Company Events Own planning and execution of company events from kickoff to final survey with recommendations for future enhancements. Events include annual conferences for brokers, support team, and internal groups, such as SOAR (our women in brokerage group). IS THIS ROLE A FIT FOR YOU?
