Event Planning Director Job Description

The American Heart Association is seeking a highly skilled Event Planning Director to join our team. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for coordinating event logistics, managing vendors, and ensuring the success of our fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement event logistics, including sourcing vendors and negotiating contract terms.
  • Work closely with the Association legal team to review and negotiate contracts.
  • Develop and implement risk assessment plans for special events.
  • Supervise and train a team of administrative staff to support event coordination and execution.
  • Manage financial and donor management systems, including financial reporting and resolving transactional discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in event planning and management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with vendor negotiations and contract review.

Preferred Skills:

  • Design skills in Canva or similar tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint system.
