ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have an incredible opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter to join our team in Houston, TX. This role will be responsible for managing various HR functions, including payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance with employment standards, policy implementation, and technical recruiting. This role also requires knowledge of various state laws and regulations.

Responsibilities will include:

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Manage and process payroll using ADP software.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.

Recruitment:

  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment for technical and non-technical positions.
  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent.
  • Screen, interview, and recommend candidates for hire.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and job requirements.
  • Onboard new employees and manage documents, taxes and benefits packages.

Compliance and Policy Implementation:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment standards and regulations.

Legal Compliance:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal standards and reduce risks related to daily management of employees.
  • Assist with immigration processes and ensure compliance with state laws.
  • Research and analyze employee trends to understand ways to increase employee engagement and retention.

Employee Relations:

  • Address employee concerns and provide support on HR-related issues.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Conduct investigations as needed and resolve conflicts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a human resources role, with a focus on payroll and benefits administration.
  • Proficiency in ADP payroll software would be an asset.
  • Experience in technical full cycle recruiting.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
