**Job Summary: Peer Support Staff**

The chief responsibility of On-Call Support Staff is to provide for the safety of the residents and building. Duties include making hourly rounds and recording events in the log, handling emergencies, monitoring medications, performing light housekeeping duties as needed, assisting residents with activities for daily living, keeping informed of residents weekly progress, assisting in preparing and/or serving meals, and other administrative tasks as assigned. Shifts are open at two Project HOME sites which both serve people who have a history of homelessness and substance use/mental illness: St. Elizabeths Recovery Residence (men) and Sacred Heart Recovery Residence & Respite (men & women). The On-Call Support Staff may be called for shifts as needed/available for daily evening shifts (4p to midnight); daily overnight shifts (midnight to 8am); and/or weekend shift (8am-4p) Sat/Sun.

Ability to use Narcan and other life saving measures in case of accidental overdose and/or illness that may require emergency intervention or resuscitation. Establish and maintain healthy relationships with residents, including facilitating recovery and community building groups and activities. Ability to develop and facilitate support groups for residents on and off site. Assist residents in the Preparation of meals and gain an understanding of the role nutrition Excellent listening, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications). Knowledge and experience with mental illness, issues regarding homelessness and addiction. Knowledge of crisis intervention, de-escalation. Lived experience and a personal commitment to recovery.
