is seeking a Structural Engineering Discipline Lead for its Transportation business line, to be based out of Chelmsford, MA. The ideal candidate will act as a lead for pursuits and projects using alternative delivery methods such as Progressive Design-Build, Design-Build, Construction Manager/General Contractor (“CM/GC”), or methods with early contractor involvement. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following: Coordinate structural engineering technical aspects of pursuits and projects with other disciplines and in support of other project/ design managers. Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables. Ensure the structural design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents. Assist in establishing structural scope, work plan and work schedules. Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies. Support groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists towards development of structural design documents and contract deliverables. Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that design documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client. Train, mentor and develop staff and support career growth opportunities for staff. Support marketing coordination and proposal preparation. Participate in proposal interviews. Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables. Lead responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables. Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiate plans for alternative actions. Incorporate innovation in design and delivery. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar field + 8 years of relevant design experience in bridge engineering, design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with alternative delivery methods or projects with early contractor involvement. Recent Design-Build experience serving as Project Manager.
