Summary

The Sr. Manager, Finance is responsible for Finance, Reporting, Analysis and Business support for the Ion Chromatography / Sample Preparation (ICSP) Business Unit globally as well as partnering with the BU to achieve annual operating targets. Continuous improvement of performance over time on a consistent, global basis is also required. Specific job responsibilities can be grouped into four main areas: (i) Financial and Management Reporting (ii) Business Partnership; (iii) Strategic Planning and Budgeting; (iv) Management & Personnel Development.

Financial And Management Reporting

Manage all month-end, quarter-end and year-end company-wide financial Reporting in an accurate and timely fashion. Prepare all periodic Management Reports, both for the ICSP Leadership team and Corporate. Develop new reports as needed to improve visibility of business performance and to track initiatives. Assist in developing and tracking action plans to meet Business Unit/divisional objectives. Analyze and partner with Operations teams and Divisional Ops Finance to understand factory performance and product line profitability and to support productivity actions and metrics.

Business Partnership

Work closely with Business team to support meeting company objectives. In addition to standard reporting mechanisms, develop tools which can be used on an ad-hoc basis to produce actionable insights. Drive improvement projects for the business unit related to HFM, Data Warehouse, and CRM.

Strategic Planning And Budgeting

Direct and manage the Annual Operating Plan process for the Business Unit by creating processes and templates for data collection by country and/or region. Provide analytics to leadership so that informed decisions can be made. Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts. Explain deviations to AOP/forecast and actions to be taken to ensure achievement of annual targets. Develop reliable forecasting processes that can be consistently utilized by all of the global entities/regions. Develop and implement initiatives to constantly improve performance of the Business. These initiatives can focus on sales growth, margin expansion (product mix, pricing, sourcing), cost savings, productivity improvements, training, supply chain efficiencies, restructuring and any other relevant areas of the business. Track and drive initiatives and associated results on an ongoing basis. At all times, provide responsible and accurate financial and operational input to finance and business managers with regards to any current or future projects affecting the performance of the business.

Management And Personnel Development

Supervise and provide oversight of team resources in the execution of daily activities. Drive execution with team to ensure all FP&A activities are completed in a timely basis. Ensure that team is partnering effectively with the business in the completion of their duties. Guide and coach team members in their execution of tasks that impact the business unit financial results. Help identify risk and opportunities that have a financial impact to the business unit.

Qualifications

8+ years of progressive experience in Finance leadership roles. International experience preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing finance and understanding of factory operations and cost accounting topics and concepts required. BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Statistics, Economics or related field desired. Strong experience: HFM/Hyperion, Cognos, MS Power BI, ERP systems like MS Navision, SAP. Possess international experience and a global approach to business. Experience working in a multi-currency environment preferred. Big picture thinker capable of translating strategy into actionable and measurable initiatives. A self-starter with a proven track record of driving projects through to implementation. Experience in developing business processes and system enhancements to drive productivity Demonstrates strong leadership skills and an initiative/creativity to drive change with a hands-on approach and an intense focus on results. Clear understanding of the value of metrics and processes. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. An ability to summarize information and present it in a concise and effective manner to influence other members of the management team at the business unit, division, group and corporate levels. Ability to successfully interact with other parties (customers, suppliers, service providers, senior management, peers, etc.) in an international setting w/cultural differences. A proven record of being able to multi-task and adapt to changing situations and varied demands. Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment on his/her own and handle numerous responsibilities. Willing to work out of Sunnyvale, CA location.
