Objective:

The Human Resource Generalist is proactive in seeking efficiency gains, advocating for employees, and aiding

Supervisors in complying with labor laws. In partnership with the Executive Pastor of Operations and Finance,

this role leads and directs the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) area, including, but not limited to,

recruiting and onboarding staff, administering payroll and benefits, and maintaining control of personnel files

and confidentiality.

Essential Functions:
  • Ensure the development, implementation, and adherence to all human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating all job descriptions and position changes as necessary.
  • Process and ensure the accuracy of semi-monthly and monthly payroll, including housing allowance and bonuses.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the maintenance and updating of the Employee Handbook.
  • Responsible for coordinating annual open enrollment and maintaining ongoing changes to benefits plans.
  • Oversees completion of background checks on staff and volunteers and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee year-end W-2 adjustments and 1099 distributions through the HCM system.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and staff on issues such as labor laws, reasonable accommodations, investigations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manage the off-boarding process, including issuing separation notices, conducting exit interviews, collecting church-owned property, and terminating benefits.
  • As required, attend staff and departmental meetings on time.
  • Participates in training as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience in a ministry or non-profit organization role preferred.
  • A minimum of three years experience in a Human Resource Manager or Generalist role is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of human resources-related laws, regulations, and legislation; implementing changes as necessary or required.
  • Experience working with an HCM system is required; Paylocity is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Possess a high degree of personal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in meeting task deadlines/timeline requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to express ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.
  • Willingness to take on new tasks and initiatives.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Doctrinal beliefs congruent with Crosspoint City Church.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
  • Confidentiality of personal and church information is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions - This position encompasses indoor and outdoor environmental

conditions. It necessitates the capacity for prolonged sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and flexible movement.

Occasionally, lifting objects weighing up to 10 pounds with assistance may be required. Proficiency in operating a

computer, phone system, and other office equipment is necessary.

Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position, and hours of work consist of Monday through Friday, with

office hours to be determined weekly.
