As a Payroll Specialist, you will:

  • Have a primary focus on processing bi-weekly multi-state payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and timely with correct withholding taxes and deductions.
  • Post timecards and track hours.
  • Handle payroll month end tasks
  • Have other payroll responsibilities to include accounting entries, preparing taxes and deductions, journal entries, maintaining payroll records, and preparing reports for management.
  • Communicate payroll deductions to retirement plan administrator.
  • Communicate with employees regarding escalated complex payroll and time and attendance inquiries/issues and work to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, analyze and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate recording and reporting.

This is a full time onsite Contract-to-Hire Opportunity offering $33.65/hr

Requirements:

  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • Attention to detail is a must. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; ensures quality of work.
  • Three to five years of previous payroll work experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office including Excel.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills, processes and software applications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle high volume tasks (e.g., computer data entry).
