Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President and Treasurer, the Senior Manager, U.S. Federal and State Tax will work with many members of tax, finance, legal and business teams and will be responsible for overseeing the US federal and state tax compliance, tax provision, strategic tax planning, and audit defense. Hollister operates in a hybrid work environment. oHhh
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all US federal, state, and local tax matters
- Oversee all US federal and state tax audits
- Be viewed as a valued and strategic tax business partner and advising on day to day US federal and state tax matters
- Responsible for the federal and state tax compliance and estimated tax payments ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting
- Responsible for the federal and state tax provision ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting
- Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations, rulings, court cases, etc. ensuring that adequate procedures are in place to accurately report corporate taxes. Communicates material impacts of new requirements.
- Perform tax research on an as needed basis with respect to federal and state income tax, payroll tax, and property tax
- Work collaboratively on a cross-functional basis to identify and implement process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (advanced degree or CPA strongly preferred, in process or willing to accomplish)
- Minimum of 10+ years of federal tax compliance and provision experience in public accounting, law firm, corporate in-house or a combination thereof
- Minimum of 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Communicates effectively at all levels
- Demonstrated analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
- Excellent coaching, personnel development and leadership skills
